CONFESSION TO MY CHERRIES

One of my cherry beans( my synonym for best friend) just sent me a video on social media about friendship. Now I can't sleep simply because, the video got into my veins.
A small sized spoken word yet so relevant to our lives today and the culture we are so into now.
I have millions of signals when it comes to these wires called friendships.




Friendships is a broad topic to talk about in just one article, therefore today let's just be brief.

I have to start by saying I love my friends, like no kidding, when I love I'm stupid so trust me when I say I stupidly love my cherries.

It wasn't always that way, as I am not a huge emotional cheer person so getting into deep friendships was just a hustle and I had to deal with a lot to be where I am today.

One day my mentor told me that I trade with things over people, that was deep and so I had to change the whole ideology and to start trading with people.

Still a student,hence, work in progress if I may say.

That statement made me realize on the importance of investing in friendships.

Asking myself so many absurd but important life long questions.
Obviously I couldn't answer them all but I had to change, changing my approach on how I view people, how to relate to people, what I'm giving out to people, and if i deserved them really.

Change is painful especially if you sleep with comfort daily, but it's inevitable. I hate change but I love it cause out of it, are rewards that I would rejoice in.

I still are in the process of change and becoming a better friend to them all. I want to do life with all my cherries all the days of my life.

FORGIVE

Today I want to ask for forgiveness to my cherry beans, if I have wronged you, knowingly and unknowingly, for not being the friend you bargained for.

REBUKE

The word says that a rebuke from a friend is better than hidden love. Therefore I give you authority to rebuke me when I'm being folly.

LOYALTY

I choose to be loyal to you and to love you even when I don't feel like it. To comfort you and to honor you in your darkest points.

AVAIL

I fail at availing myself one too many times and I need to improve on this. I vow to improve on this and to avail myself to you as much as I can. But also know I am just but a phone call away.

LISTEN

I vow to be a good listener even when my mouth itches to interrupt you. To support the positive things and to always be there to offer my ears to you.

EMPOWER

I promise to always drag you with me in the classes of growth and to stretch you to the best that you can be. Encourage your gifts and to be the best cheerleader.

PROGRESS

We are called to be great people therefore I vow to always be there as we grow to be what God has called us to be. To go with you all the way. To let you learn from your failures and to win.

LOVE

Lastly I promise to be a friend that is after Christ, to love you, not only by words but actions. To appreciate you and to care for you genuinely and wholly.
I will thrive to be the 1 Corinthians 13 friend.

I am not saying that I will mysteriously be the best friend but I know that through Christ all is possible.

May the Holy Spirit teach me and enable me to discern and to be a better friend to my  cherries. Not to cause harm but good.
To love and to hold.

To be as loyal as Jonathan

Faithful as Abraham

To have a teachable spirit like Timothy

To be forgiving like Jesus

Repentant like David

Praying for you like Hannah.

But above all I want to imitate CHRIST. To love you and to be selfless.

May my friendships be to Gods glory.
